MEMBER REQUIREMENTS AND FEES

Membership Requirements

Members must:

  • Be an institution or group, no individual members
  • Have a class meeting space
  • Have designated instructor(s)
  • Complete an Educational Alliance Program membership application and pay $60 application fee
  • Sign a membership contract (upon application approval)

Payments

Both training options include sample class materials: The Cancer Survivor’s Guide, Eating Right for Cancer Survival two-disc DVD set, and related brochures, fliers, and posters.

  • One-time $99 curriculum fee

  • Must choose one of the two one-time training options*:  

    • Attend the annual two-day immersion program (includes breakfasts and lunches) for $475

    OR

    • Participate in the Web-based training for $275
  • Nominal recurring annual fee of $25, included with annual survey and copy of any curriculum or material revisions

 

CLASS LOCATION REQUIREMENTS

Your class location needs to provide:

  • Television and VCR or DVD player
  • Kitchen, or a sink nearby (optional)
  • Chairs for attendees
  • Two tables (one should be at least 6' x 3'), one for food prep and one for cooking demonstrations
  • Power outlets, easily accessible
  • Permission to use gas or electric burners
  • Trash can
  • You must also handle preregistration for the event and let us know the total number of attendees you’ll be teaching. (Note: The recommended maximum number of attendees per class is 30.)
  • Someone to help with setting up your class area furniture (chairs, table, etc., as needed)

 

INSTRUCTOR REQUIREMENTS

Your instructor will need these items:

  • Food or reimbursement for food (about $3 per attendee)
  • Paper plates, bowls, napkins, utensils (often donated by sponsor grocery stores)
  • Extension cord and/or power strip
  • Pots, pans, bowls, utensils, and other cooking equipment
  • Aprons, potholders, dishtowels
  • Two gas, electric, or induction burners
  • Microwave
  • Oven/toaster oven
  • Microphone (optional, depending on size of room and audience)
